Season 8 of Love Island USA started on June 8, 2026 and fans are already hooked on the reality TV show. The dating competition show added three new cast members, or bombshells, to the cast in its sixth episode: Caleb McDanielJen Terry, and Sol Dean. Sol is a model from Orange, California, and after the beautiful bombshell entered the villa, fans want to know more about her ethnicity.

She told me Travel LA In 2024, in addition to modeling, she is also involved in writing, painting and music.
“I’m a creative person,” she said. “I do fashion modelling, painting, writing and singing. I specialize in music and fashion, doing catwalk, ECOM and print work.”

Fans are curious about the ethnicity of ‘Love Island USA’ star Sol Mýa.
Sol is a 24 year old black model from Orange, California. She also lived in Chicago and credits her poet father for her creativity and entry into the entertainment industry.
“From childhood, my father taught me to sing and act,” said the model. “Where that led me to a passion in the entertainment industry. I started doing talent shows since first grade to feel more comfortable in the public eye expressing myself.”
Sol added that she started writing her own music in high school after being inspired by her father.
“Started writing my own music freshman year of high school,” she continued. “Again, inspired by my father being a poet, he helped me understand what I was feeling and was able to help me express that through my writing.”
She added that she learned to play the cello, violin and bass, and she and her brother often performed our skits growing up.

Sol noted that one of her favorite memories growing up was listening to oldies in the car with her dad.
“My dad played oldies in the car and taught me a classic duet by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack,” she recalls. “There are a lot of great memories to look back on and see how it shaped me into the woman I am today.”

Sol shared a message for her father Instagram detailing their celebration for his 50th.
“Happy beloved birthday, daddy,” she wrote. “Glad I had a lot of laughs and took you to try some restaurants. 50 blessed years we celebrated yesterday, thank you for everything you have done in my life, thank you for being my best friend. I love you forever and ever!”
Love Island USA drops new episodes every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on Peacock. However, no new episodes will premiere on Wednesday.
