James Handy’s cause of death has revealed new details his brutal murder, allegedly, by his long-time girlfriend’s son.
According to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s report obtained by TMZthe “Top Gun: Maverick” actor’s death was the result of a stab wound to the torso, with “neck compression” an additional factor.
Neck compressions are often caused by age-related wear and tear of the nerves in the neck when they become pinched or put under abnormal pressure. according to the National Institutes of Health.


On June 3, Handy was attacked by 44-year-old Michael Gledhill stabbed the actor to death outside his home in Tarzana, Los Angeles. He was 81.
The California Post reported that the “Jumanji” actor was subsequently found authorities responded to a caller who said, “I am the son of man, I have just slain the man of sin.”
Suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest, Handy was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Shortly afterward, Michael — the son of Handy’s partner of 30 years, Wendy Gledhill — allegedly waved at officers and told them he was the one they were looking for, according to an LAPD news release.
That was him eventually arrested And accused of one murder. If convicted, he faces up to 26 years in prison.
Michael was living with the couple at the time of the stabbing.
