He Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is notoriously strict when it comes to liquids when travel. for one Delta hard worker, those rules certainly worked in her favor.
In a TikTok that racked up 1.8 million views, Haley Vossr (@haleyvossr) shared how an airport worker ended up taking all of her “liquid gold.”
The video consisted of the user carrying perfume towards the container before passing it to a uniformed Delta worker. She then took out other beauty products from her bag and gave them to that same employee.
The text on the screen read: “POV: TSA made me throw away all my liquid gold…they were too good to throw away, so the Delta employee graded them.”
BroBible reached out to Vossr via TikTok direct message. BroBible also contacted Delta via a contact form and the TSA via email.
What did the commentators say?
Commenters were confused that it had come to that.
“All you have to do is pay $40 for a checked bag,” one wrote.
“Is this your first time flying?” asked a second.
“They should have a system where you can pay to ship them to wherever you go or back to your house,” a third suggested.
A fourth asked, “Don’t people read the TSA guidelines when packing?”
However, some commenters defended the TikToker.
“OMG, not all brands make travel sizes and not everyone wants to buy another one for that either,” noted a fifth.
While a sixth said: “I love that you chose to give it away rather than just waste it.”
What are the TSA liquid rules?
According Level 8The TSA philosophy is that if you can spread it, spray it, pump it, or pour it, it counts as a liquid (yes, even the grenade-shaped ones). spicy sauce). So perfume is a very obvious part of that category.
TSA generally follows 3-1-1 liquid rule. This refers to three main limitations set by the rules: 3.4 oz (100 ml) containers, one quart bag, and one carry-on bag per passenger.
If a container measures more than 3.4 oz (100 ml), it will not be allowed entry. This applies even if the container is only partially full.
Instead, it is recommended that passengers carry the larger bottles in their checked luggage.
There is no limit on the amount of liquid that can be carried in checked baggage. The only exception is if the liquid in question is alcohol.
In other words, it’s possible that these perfumes could have passed through security if they were in a checked bag. But unfortunately, that was not the case here.
