Drake says his first kiss was to a Backstreet Boys song

DuckThe first kiss had the soundtrack by none other than alley boysand he made sure to let one of the group members know at their first meeting.

In a new interview with Billboard Posted on Wednesday (June 24), BSB member Kevin Richardson shared a story about meeting Drizzy in Toronto in 2022.

“I think for my kids, probably the coolest thing that ever happened to them is when we were on the DNA Tour and we were in Toronto,” he recalled. “We had just arrived and went to a restaurant that turned out to be like Drake’s: that’s where he always goes. (…) And suddenly Drake appears.

“The maître d’ says, ‘Excuse me, Drake is here and he would love, when he’s done (…), to come say hi,'” he continued. “And then we went to see him and he told us a story about his first kiss to one of our songs. And then he said, ‘What are you guys doing in town?’ I said, ‘We’re going to play three shows.’ He says, ‘Could it happen? “He came out ahead, got on stage and performed with us.”

The moment was well documented in July 2022, when Drizzy joined the superstar boy band for their hit “I Want It That Way.” After calling himself the sixth member, Drake shared context for why the moment on stage meant so much to him.

“At 13 I had a bar mitzvah, and at my bar mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl I was in love with came up to me while one of the greatest songs in the world was playing and asked me if I wanted to dance with her,” he told the crowd. “It was the first time I felt recognized and it was the first time I felt like I had a chance to be great.

“If she can see me now, do you know what I’m talking about?” he concluded.
