I recently started watching the HBO documentary. Tony Hawk: Until the wheels come off. If you’re a ’90s kid who was exposed to a healthy dose of X games and the professional skater game franchise, it is a must see. It was great to not only relive that specific chapter of pop culture, but also to witness a surprisingly intimate and vulnerable image of a documentary subject. Suffice it to say that many of us, Gen Xers and millennials, were heavily influenced by skate culture, whether we ever got on a board or not.
