When Will originally popped the question during a rainy afternoon in Manhattan last year, Kenya didn’t let the inclement weather ruin her mood for even a second. She beautifully recalled a piece of timeless wisdom passed down from her legendary father, Quincy Jones, who tragically passed away in late 2024. Quincy always used to tell her: “When it rains, get wet!”—a beautiful, comforting feeling that made the rainy engagement seem completely destined.
To keep her father’s spirit close to her heart during the ceremony, Kenya worked with her close friend and celebrity stylist Jason Rembert to construct a stunning drop-waist custom Brandon Maxwell gown. The design team beautifully sewed a piece of Quincy’s actual handwriting directly into the fabric of the dress, and Kenya wrapped her bridal bouquet in one of her father’s personal favorite ties while carrying a personalized photo locket down the aisle. Inside the billionaire’s backyard ceremony: “Everyone rides!”
The Peltz family is known for putting on absolute production-level events (who could forget Will’s sister Nicola Peltz’s big Palm Beach wedding to Brooklyn Beckham?), but Will and Kenya wanted their weekend to be deeply personal, warm, and close-knit. For the main and largest ceremony the next day, Will’s billionaire father Nelson proudly served as his best man, while his mother Claudia took on the highest honor of being Kenya’s Matron of Honor. Will candidly told reporters that the moment Kenya took a step down the aisle, the entire world completely faded away. “I felt like I was waiting for eternity in Kenya. I wanted to see my girlfriend. When she came out, everything faded away and all I could see was her.”
