Rainy’s proposal and a heartfelt tribute to Quincy Jones

To understand how deeply sentimental this union really is, you have to look at the magnificent full-circle moments woven into their love story.

When Will originally popped the question during a rainy afternoon in Manhattan last year, Kenya didn’t let the inclement weather ruin her mood for even a second. She beautifully recalled a piece of timeless wisdom passed down from her legendary father, Quincy Jones, who tragically passed away in late 2024. Quincy always used to tell her: “When it rains, get wet!”—a beautiful, comforting feeling that made the rainy engagement seem completely destined.

To keep her father’s spirit close to her heart during the ceremony, Kenya worked with her close friend and celebrity stylist Jason Rembert to construct a stunning drop-waist custom Brandon Maxwell gown. The design team beautifully sewed a piece of Quincy’s actual handwriting directly into the fabric of the dress, and Kenya wrapped her bridal bouquet in one of her father’s personal favorite ties while carrying a personalized photo locket down the aisle. Talk about an absolute thrill, baby!

Inside the billionaire’s backyard ceremony: “Everyone rides!”

The Peltz family is known for putting on absolute production-level events (who could forget Will’s sister Nicola Peltz’s big Palm Beach wedding to Brooklyn Beckham?), but Will and Kenya wanted their weekend to be deeply personal, warm, and close-knit. Adopting the motto of Will’s late hockey mentor, Jason Pagni:“Everyone travels”—the couple turned the family compound into a warm and welcoming sanctuary.

The couple kicked off the weekend with a private and ultra-intimate morning exchange of vows outdoors.

Kenya walked down the aisle escorted by her father-in-law Nelson Peltz and uncle Richard, while Will’s iconic mother, a former model Claudia Heffner PeltzHe sweetly walked his son down the hallway holding his hand. The couple’s siblings and nieces made up the wedding party, and the family’s beloved black Labrador, Bandit, could even be heard barking happily in the background during the vows!

For the main and largest ceremony the next day, Will’s billionaire father Nelson proudly served as his best man, while his mother Claudia took on the highest honor of being Kenya’s Matron of Honor. Will candidly told reporters that the moment Kenya took a step down the aisle, the entire world completely faded away. “I felt like I was waiting for eternity in Kenya. I wanted to see my girlfriend. When she came out, everything faded away and all I could see was her.”

The Brooklyn Beckham Connection and an NBA Watch Party!

Honey, you know a Peltz family event wouldn’t be complete without a dash of modern pop culture crossover! The star-studded guest list included Will’s sister. Nicola Peltz-Beckham and her husband Brooklyn Beckhamwho were seen dancing all night. Nicola couldn’t contain her excitement about the union and rushed to the comments sections of Instagram to gush about Kenya. “Thank you for giving me my sister… My sister since day 1! The most magical day of all!”

But honey, the fun wasn’t limited to haute couture and sentimental tears! Since Will and Kenya describe themselves as a laid-back “come to dinner” couple, they made sure their reception had a serious flavor. Since neither of them are professional dancers, they asked the band to reduce their first dance with Etta James to just 30 seconds because they were “Completely improvising!” Even wilder? The groom secretly installed a huge flat-screen TV inside the luxury cocktail tent so guests wouldn’t miss a second of the show. NBA Championship Game New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs! At one point in the night, the entire high-society wedding guest list was crowded together in their couture gowns and custom-made NB44 tuxedos, shouting at the screen to witness a historic Knicks victory.

From first kisses on the Santa Monica Pier to a billionaire’s reception at a backyard sports bar, Will and Kenya have proven that true, lasting love in Hollywood is entirely possible. Media Take Out sends the biggest congratulations to the newly named Mr. and Mrs. Peltz as they begin their final forever journey together.
