It seems strange to say, but we are getting very close to the launch of grand theft car 6. After multiple delays, we’re just a few months away from finally seeing What Rockstar has been cooking all this timeand if it will last the rest of the time like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
But so far not everything is going well. The announcement of GTA 6 pre-orders It hasn’t gone well for everyone.especially since some of the content is locked behind the premium edition. However, later redditfans are discussing the latest delay for GTA 6and how it could affect your perception of the game before launch.
Thanks to the new wording of the official Rockstar channels, we know that “grand theft car 6 “will be a single-player experience” at launch. This solidifies the murmur that Rockstar didn’t have a second version of GTA online planned for the release of the sixth iteration, and fans are wondering when it will arrive.
Skepticism is already flowing: “If we’re lucky, it might be sold separately to people who don’t want to buy the single-player version, while people who buy the full game will get free online access whenever it’s released.” Some think there is no problem and will be added later: “It will be added in an update and then subsequent printings will mention it on the back of the box.”
Others think it just won’t be added, period: “Why are people so convinced that there will be an online part? They officially said it’s a single-player game.”
Some are taking a more pragmatic approach: “I think it could also mean that there’s just no planned release date for it, unlike GTA 5 and RDR2 where they had basic online modes ready to launch shortly after base. They may be waiting to make sure they have a perfect online mode with tons of content when it launches.”
A fan has a theory: “We all know Rockstar took notes from the modding community with this whole RPG thing, especially seeing how celebrity-run servers were making a lot of money from people spending real money. You can bet Rockstar is going to introduce that to GTA Online. I can easily see them making it semi-free, with a monthly ‘VIP’ option that provides extra perks, and then flooding it with microtransactions for everyone else. Truckloads of MTX, guaranteed.”
Rockstar is coy about this for obvious reasons. In particular, given their history, they could easily saturate as many copies as they can in 2026 and early 2027, and then slowly release news about a new online component to get people back into the PC edition.
It’s a strategy they’ve essentially used to “re-release” recent games several times and, given the excitement there is behind GTA 6It’s easy to imagine this happening again.
