Joe Manganiello is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors.
But despite being in the limelight for many years, the photogenic star has managed to keep the details of her personal life under wraps.
That’s about to change, thanks to a new memoir in which Manganiello has opened up about his personal struggles, including a series of health issues that nearly claimed his life.


In newly published excerpts from BloodinessJoe revealed that he endured a devastating seven-year battle with autoimmune-related diseases that attacked multiple parts of his body and ultimately resulted in life-saving amputation.
Manganiello’s health began to deteriorate after what he described as “a cluster of autoimmune-related diseases” that affected his skin, thyroid, eyes, lungs, and digestive system, according to the book’s summary.
The actor reportedly suffered from chronic pain, multiple medical crises and a prolonged struggle, with doctors unable to give clear answers as to what was happening to him.
The health battle ultimately led to a life-saving organ amputation, although Manganiello has not publicly disclosed which organ was removed.
in a statement to People Magazine, Manganiello reflected on the experience and the impact it had on him.
He said, “It was the hardest time of my life, a time I wouldn’t wish on even my worst enemy, but it was also my greatest adventure.”
The 49-year-old explained that his search for answers ultimately extended beyond conventional medicine.
When doctors were unable to determine the cause of her ailments, Manganiello turned to alternative paths that included spiritual exploration, genealogical research, ancient myths, and other unconventional practices.
That trip reportedly inspired him to uncover stories about his ancestors, including relatives who survived the Armenian Genocide and family members who battled chronic illness.
Manganiello calls the process of writing Bloodiness It helped him understand the suffering he had endured and gave him a new perspective on his life.
He hoped that readers facing his own challenges would find encouragement in his story and learn that healing can exist on the other side of even the most difficult struggles.
The memoir is scheduled for release in October and promises to explore not only Joe’s medical difficulties, but also his rise to stardom, his sobriety, and his life as a whole. Failed marriage to Sofia Vergara.
