We have covered before Christina Ricci’s complicated relationship history.
Recently, her ex-husband filed a petition for immediate modification of the custody of their son.
He alleged that the actress’ drinking during the trip required court intervention and an alcohol test.
What happened?

Here’s what we know…
tmz Ricci’s ex-husband James Heerdegen has filed for an emergency hearing, the report said.
He argued that the current custody arrangement for his son Freddy is untenable.
According to his court filing, his young son Freddy contacted him about Ricci’s conduct during a recent flight.
On June 16, Ricky and Freddy flew to Canada.
Ricci reportedly drank alcohol during the journey.
Freddie spoke to his own legal representative, and “advised that he ‘overreacted’ in sending those text messages to his father.”
The twin, who turns 12 this August, shared that “Ms. Ricci’s description of her alcohol consumption and subsequent behavior was not as she described.”
Perhaps most importantly, Freddy informed his lawyer that he had no fear of remaining in the custody of his mother.
James’s demand for an alcohol test for Ricky was rejected by the court.
Additionally, Freddy’s attorney warned that “there is a real danger that public access to the statements and records could jeopardize the stability of Freddy’s mental health.”
What happened?
It seems like legal matter For a very common event that is not typically included in legal filings.
Hypothetically, an 11-year-old on a flight with his mother might find his behavior a bit disturbing, especially if he drinks alcohol on the flight rather than spoil the experience.
Like many children of divorce, he may remain in close contact with both parents and complain about it to his father.
Hypothetically, a father with a legal history of abusive behavior who has been accused of physical and emotional abuse might try to seize this as an opportunity to wrest custody from his ex-wife.
Upon realizing that his comments are absurd, which almost anyone could make without the life experience to understand how his words can be used, such an 11-year-old child may hastily inform the court that things are fine.
In July 2020, Ricci filed to divorce Heerdegen.
She accused him of “severe physical and emotional abuse” during their marriage.
In her divorce filing, she also alleged that “numerous acts of abuse” occurred in front of their son, Freddy.
Freddy was only 5 years old at the time of his parents’ divorce filing.
Luckily, Rikki has moved on and married hair stylist Mark Hampton. Together they have also welcomed a daughter.
Believe it kids. But it also means believing them when they clarify through their legal representative that complaining about the flight with their mother is not a cry for help.
