Team USA player Christian Pulisić has a few things to celebrate this World Cup.
The forward is back for his second World Cup and is one of the football icons selected to feature McDonald’s FIFA World Cup 26 meal collector’s cups alongside David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaucho and Son Heung-Min.

In an exclusive interview with To distractCaptain America talks about Team USA’s chemistry, his World Cup hopes and his favorite meal after the football game.

Christian Pulisic says the 2026 U.S. World Cup team is “really special.”
Christian Pulisic may be one of Team USA’s most recognizable faces, but he’s joined by equally impressive players like Weston McKennie and Folarin Balogun.
And although they play on different teams outside the World Cup – Christian plays for AC Milan, Weston for Juventus and Folarin for Monaco – their chemistry on the pitch is undeniable when they come together.
“I think that’s the great thing about national teams, or everyone is in a similar boat. You’re with your club teams for most of the year, and then you come in, and you have to do what you can to build as much of that chemistry as possible,” Christian said. To distract. “What’s cool about our team is that I’ve known these guys for so long. I’ve been playing with some of them since I was 14, 15 years old. It’s pretty crazy. So I think that can only help, and a lot of us are very close and do things off the field, and I think it’s a very special team.”

Team USA has had a complicated history at the World Cup in recent years. After failing to qualify for the 2018 tournament, they advanced to the Round of 16 in 2022 when they were disqualified despite Christian’s star power.
However, this time he told us that he is more confident.

“I think playing in all these competitions has helped prepare me for this moment. Ultimately, I think it’s the same sport, same rules, but there’s just an extra sense of pride,” Christian says. “It’s the biggest tournament in the world. I mean, playing in the World Cup is like nothing else… just remembering what the last World Cup was like, it’s such a special memory, and you have the opportunity to do something really great.”
He continued, “I feel like we’re never going to figure it out. We always have a chance, and that’s kind of our mentality going in.”

Christian Pulisic is also proud to represent Team USA on McDonald’s collectible cups.
McDonald’s was Christian’s favorite post-training meal growing up, so things came full circle for him when he found out he would be featured in one of nine collectible cups featuring football icons in the fast food giant’s FIFA World Cup Meal.
“For me, it was normally a ten-piece McNugget with an Oreo McFlurry and a big boy. I loved it, so I’d say this is probably my favorite choice.”

Starting June 4, fans in the US can enjoy every goal with the FIFA World Cup 26 Meal, complete with your choice of a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, paired with our limited edition, gold-wrapped Big Mac sauce.
