Steve-O Reveals ‘Comical’ Amount He Paid For Jackass Season 1 – You Won’t Believe This!

Steve-O risked his life for a quick buck.

When you look Foolwhat’s one of the first things that comes to mind? Well, that is, after “OUCH” and “who in their right mind would do that?!” It’s probably, “These guys must get paid a LOT,” right? Well, that may be the case now, but in the humble days of Fool season 1, not so much.

While chatting with Playboy for an interview published on Tuesday, Steve-O revealed the shockingly low amount he was paid for literally risking his body, his bones, his nether regions and his life:

“It’s funny how little I got paid for the first season of Fool. I didn’t even get paid per episode. I was paid by the bit.”

He further revealed that after being ‘beaten up’ while filming, he had under-sold himself:

“After five days of filming, I was all beat up, hungover, bitten by a shark, and I took out a piece of paper to write down what I really felt I needed to do to be on the show. At the top I wrote ‘Goldfish,’ and I figured while I was at it, I might as well put what I expect to get paid.”

Who could forget that wretched goldfish skit where he swallowed a live specimen and then puked it back out? Watch at your own discretion (below):

No, he didn’t get thousands for that:

“Next to ‘Goldfish,’ I literally wrote $200. That’s hilarious because I could have completely choked on the goldfish. If it somehow went backwards, I would have completely torn my throat open. But I had so much pride and I wanted to be considered so gnarly. It was just pride and ego. I wrote $200.”

DISTURBED!

But that wasn’t the extent of his stunts with aquatic creatures that season:

“I got bitten by a shark – you can see this little scar on my finger – and I was charged $500 for it.”

You’re kidding.

And towards the end of the season, Steve-O revealed that he was paid less than $2,000:

“When it was all said and done, I was paid less than $1,500 after taxes for the entire first season of Fool.”

But at a time when he was young and hungry for fame, he made it work:

“Before the show came out, my sister kicked me out of the house. I was broke, jobless, homeless, and a star in this big movie.” MTV show. That’s one of the first things I learned about fame: it comes much easier than fortune.

Absolutely WILD.

Can you imagine getting only $1,500 for performing some of the stunts that Steve-O has? Not in our wildest dreams!!! We really hope he has increased his price for the near future Jackass: Best and Last! Ha!
