Here’s what a royal insider said about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s bruise.
Images of it have recently been circulating King Charles’ brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsordriving near his new Marsh Farm home with a large bruise on the right side of his face. The bruise was impossible to miss and generated headlines about how the disgraced monarch was coming.
Well, an insider has decided to address Andrew’s facial bruise, but hasn’t provided enough information to end the public’s speculation.
A source close to the former Duke of York told the newspaper Daily mail that the bruise is not a “cause for concern,” adding that there was “no drama” involved. However, they declined to comment further due to medical confidentiality.
Of course, people can bruise in a variety of ways, from taking blood thinners, bumping into something, facial surgery, to punching or hitting the area.
Andrew has made headlines in recent months following King Charles’ decision to strip him of his “prince” title and evict him from his old residence at the Royal Lodge over Andrew’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew was arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Police are also investigating claims that the ex-duke allegedly behaved inappropriately towards a woman who worked as a waitress at Royal Ascot.
