The Miami Marlins have tracked down the “very good boy” who went viral Monday for wanting his own hot dog during the team’s “Bark at the Park” night.
Millions of fans were moved when the Marlins’ broadcast cameras captured what happened during their game against the Texas Rangers at LoanDepot Park.
In the top of the seventh inning a dog in the stands he was enjoying a hot dog given to him by the owners. Another pup, sitting quietly a few feet away, was captured on camera observing every bite with a longing look on his face that every dog owner knows very well.
After seeing the images, the Miami Marlinslike pretty much everyone who saw it wanted to do something for the poor pup who had to watch while another dog lived his dream.
“Wanted: a very good boy. Reward: a dream day at @LoanDepot Park,” the team said wrote on X the next day.

It didn’t take long to identify the patient pup, and his name is Jonah. According to his owner, Peter Silveira, Jonah is constantly watching him.
The 6-year-old dog that Silveira saved in Aruba was not completely deprived of a culinary treat that day, it turns out.
“He ate a smoked turkey dog because a regular hot dog would destroy his stomach. I mean, if you guys want to come clean up afterward, you’re more than welcome,” Silveira said. Local 10 News.
“It’s pretty cool. I never expected it. Everyone has always said he’s the top dog, so I guess it’s normal and he was just waiting for his moment,” he added.
While the Marlins haven’t announced the details of what Jonah’s “dream day at the ballpark” will entail, it’s safe to say it will be a day he and his owners won’t forget.
