Ariana Biermann explains why she walked away from Hudson McLeroy after ten years together.
The Next generation NYC-stars revealed in the season 2 premiere that they had broken up shortly before filming began, even though their chemistry still seemed complicated after they were spotted making out at the premiere party.
On the Next Generation NYC AftershowHudson admitted that the breakup was not his decision.
“It was absolutely Ariana’s decision,” he said.
Ariana said the relationship no longer made her feel valued.
“He just got lazy in the relationship,” she explained. “We didn’t go on a date. He didn’t compliment me. He didn’t pick me up.”
She also said that trust became a major issue.
“My dad always told me, ‘The only thing a man has is his word,’” Ariana said. “And his was demolished for me.”
Ariana said Hudson failed to show up for her after her probation began last year following her alleged DUI, even as she tried to live a healthier life.
“I thought, ‘We don’t have to drink. We can do all these fun things,'” she said.
Hudson said the breakup left him in an awkward state of growth.
“For someone to grow, sometimes you have to be put in an uncomfortable position,” he said.
The cast played a role. Ava Dash, the daughter of former Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash, said the breakup message was “the day before we started filming,” while Georgia McCann wondered: “Is this to get us all talking about them?”
Cast members appeared to scoff at the couple’s joint statement, believing it may have been a PR stunt for the show.
