Jake, now 48, admitted he didn’t know if marriage was in the cards for him before he met Aimee, 41, who works in aerospace and defense contracts.
Jake explained, “I wasn’t sure if I was going to get married, and then I found Aimee. It almost doesn’t seem real. There’s a sense of peace and security that comes from knowing I get to spend my life with my best friend.”
Jake shared that he and Aimee wanted their wedding to feel like one “meeting in our living room,” so was their guest list “intentionally small.”

Jake and Aimee first met in 2024 on the dating app Bumble. They knew they were right for each other when their first date lasted six hours. Aimee gushed, “Jake has a way of making even the ordinary moments feel special, and I am so grateful that we can build a life, create memories and grow together in each season to come.”
Jake and Aimee got engaged on November 22, 2025, when he got down on one knee and popped the question in their apartment in Dallas, Texas. Jake decided to keep the special moment private, rather than have an extravagant engagement.
