A$AP Rocky makes it clear that he is not here because of the commentary surrounding him Don’t be stupid Tour behavior.
After sending Rihanna Navy in a cold blue over his comments for women in the audienceRocky had a few things to discuss during a recent tour stop.
“F**k the internet,” Rocky told the audience. “First they said n****a was wearing thongs, then they said n****since the show wasn’t sold out and no one came, they said I’m being disrespectful to my wife. Suck my dick, nigga.”
Although the clip, shared by the No Jumper Instagram account, was posted on June 27, it’s unclear which show Rocky cleared the air at; However, his inclusion of the alleged disrespect for Rihanna limits the possibility to some time after his stop in Arizona on June 23.
Thong Gate was easily refuted by the Rocky brand AWGEwho addressed the viral moment via an ad for a line of thong-top pants now added to tour merchandise, saying, “Don’t be stupid, you played yourself. A microphone pack misunderstood. Your stupidity is an opportunity. LADIES THONG STACKED DENIM JEANS.”
However, the comments that caused the most uproar were directed at a few female fans who were sitting within Rocky’s view during a show. Before stepping into one of his Playboy numbers, the Harlem rapper happily flirted with the ladies.
“Thank God you guys didn’t know me when I was single because I would have ruined you if you were pretty,” he said.
While some fans chalked it up to a professional entertainer just doing his job, others felt it was disrespectful to Rihanna, with whom he shares three children. And if what Rocky himself calls her is true, would it be permissible for a man who is married to talk to another woman that way?
Rihanna was present for the entire tour so far, with the exception of the night in question, and on those nights Rocky made sure to let his lady know that his past was just that. And that his performance of the songs where he brags about his sexual escapades are little more than remnants of a life he has no intention of returning to.
Are people just giving Rocky a hard time? We’ll see.
