Jelly roll has taken over the country rap music scene, and his success is in no small part due to his incredible wife, Bunnie XO. The couple seemed more in love than ever, even though they have had real problems together, but unfortunately Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie in May 2026. TMZ reported the following month.
Sources told the newspaper that the divorce was a mutual decision. However, it is unclear what exactly led to their split.
In a candid moment from 2025 on the “Human School” podcastJelly admitted to cheating on Bunnie, calling it “one of the worst moments” of his adult life.
Bunnie has also opened up about their journey. In August 2023, she shared a video via Instagram of them walking hand in hand and writing, “This man and I have been through some things. Most days we’re great, some days we’re off. But through it all, he’s the most consistent human being I’ve ever had in my life. Before him, I never knew how to make healthy love. But I know one thing: I never want to know how to do it without him.”
She captioned the post: “Thank you for being the Zaddy of all Zaddies, Mr. Rollskiiii 🤍✨”
Jelly Roll has performed all over the country, including at numerous award shows, and Bunnie has been his date for countless of those performances. She went with him to the CMT Music Awards in April 2024, and they looked blissful together as they posed for photos on the red carpet. They married in 2016, renewed their vows in the same chapel in Las Vegas and celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary together in September 2025.

Bunnie hosts a major podcast
With a six year age difference and Jelly’s birth in 1986, it appears that Bunnie was born in 1992. Taste of country evenings. The outlet reported Bunnie as an “exotic model/host” and a “high school dropout who jump-started her career on YouTube.” She parlayed the success into an even more successful podcast called The Dumb Blonde Podcast.
Of course, her social media footprint is no slouch either. Bunnie has more than 1 million followers on her Instagram!

Bunnie enjoys getting to know the most authentic version of the people she brings to her podcasts. In an April 27 Instagram post, which showed her lounging on a beanbag in the middle of nowhere next to a skimpy bodysuit (seen here), she talked about her interest in unraveling the layers of people.
“I love unmade beds, I love when people cry and I can’t help but be honest in that moment. I love the look in people’s eyes when they realize they are in love,” she wrote.
“I love the way people look when they first wake up and have forgotten their surroundings. I love the sigh people gasp when their favorite character dies. I love when people close their eyes and float somewhere in the clouds. I fall in love with honest moments all the time. I fall in love with their breakdowns and their smeared makeup and their daydreams. Honesty is just too beautiful to ever put into words,” she concluded.
How did Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO meet?
Jelly Roll married Bunnie, real name Bunnie DeFordin August 2016 after reportedly meeting for the first time at one of his shows in Las Vegas, NV, according to Music chaos.
“We hit it off,” Jelly Roll said, adding, “She said she fell in love with the saddest eyes in the room.”
The meet-cute was electric, to say the least, according to the rapper. “I felt her soul,” he continued. “When I hugged her, I could just feel the realness of her. I could tell it wasn’t an act.”

Does Jelly Roll have children?
Jelly was a father of two before his path met Bunnie. A previous relationship resulted in a son named Noah Buddy DeFordborn in 2016, and another romance resulted in his daughter Bailee Ann DeFord May 2008 welcomed.
“(Bunnie) helped me raise my daughter,” Jelly Roll said Music chaos. “We have had custody of her for the past nine years. It only takes a truly selfless person to help raise a child they did not birth themselves.” The outlet reported that Bunnie is also Noah’s stepmother.
Jelly Roll was crazy about his estranged wife
In a July 2023 post, Jelly Roll made no secret of his high regard for his wife. “A POST FOR BUNNIES!” he captioned a photo of the couple snuggled backstage, with Bunnie rocking a brightly cut bodysuit. “Much is often said or made about my story, but the truth is that I have never been so deeply touched by a story as I have been by my wife’s story. Seeing what this woman has overcome and her passion and determination to be something better has inspired me from the moment I met her.”
He continued, gushing in part, “She saved me during one of the darkest times of my life. She has been nothing but supportive. I remember her sitting at our kitchen table and talking to me about the vision she had to start the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast, and how it was her vehicle to end working in the sex industry for good. I watched her build her own platform, her own podcast, and her own team without any help from me. She wanted to do it alone – she didn’t want to being righteous. ‘Jelly Roll’s wife’ – she wanted to build her own empire to empower women and share her story in the hope that it could motivate others to believe they could change their lives and be happy.”
He added that she would be on tour with him and host her own Meet and Greets with fans.
Jelly Roll Called One of Bunnie’s Exes ‘Abusive’
“She was with some abusive loser, and they came to a show, and we were backstage,” Jelly Roll said of first meeting Bunnie during an interview with King and the Sting and the Wing Clips. “They broke up, and I’m not gonna pretend I shot my shot. She shot hers. We had mutual friends. She said, ‘Yo. Just hook me up with Jelly.'”
Why are Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO getting divorced?
As previously noted, it is unclear why Jelly Roll and Bunnie decided to part ways. According to TMZhe filed for divorce from his now estranged wife in Tennessee in May 2026.
