I definitely feel like I’m in a better place. Hopefully it’ll be a great weekend and a great rest of the year, maybe I’ll get all those fans back.”

Wyndham Clark’s outbursts are not limited to the locker room.

Clark has also been criticized for his behavior on the green. For a sport that typically prides itself on composure and etiquette, golfers have been known to throw clubs after bad shots, show emotional reactions after missing putts, and more.

The behavior has led many fans to encourage golf tournaments to start fining players who behave inappropriately.

“Me when my friend says he’s not a Wyndham Clark fan because of his character but I know he’s a big Tiger Woods fan,” one person said. tweeted before another added: “As the old bosses used to say, I’d rather have a sister in a wh…ehouse than Wyndham Clark win this tournament.”

More recently, Wyndham Clark became involved in a public dispute with Baker Mayfield.

Clark triumphed at Shinnecock over the weekend amid a chorus of boos for his past behavior. After the victory, an old tweet in which the golfer expressed his hatred towards the NFL quarterback baker mayfield quickly resurfaced.

Clark recently appeared on an episode of the Sorry for my opinion podcast to address speculation.

“I’m trying to decide if I should tell the story,” Clark explained. “Screw it, I don’t care. People already hate me… My girlfriend at the time cheated on me with Baker Mayfield… I’m actually a Baker fan now. I think he’s a friend. You know, that’s your initial response, like screw that guy. But really, it’s like screw him.” You know (his ex-girlfriend). “Now I’m a Baker fan, but that’s where it all came from.”

We’re glad Clark was able to close one controversy, although there are undoubtedly many more where that came from.
