Bode Miller no longer faces misdemeanor drug charges after Idaho prosecutors agreed to dismiss the case following his arrest earlier this month.
The Olympic skiing legend, who strongly denied any wrongdoing after the incident, had been charged following a June 6 traffic stop in Fremont County, Idaho.
Charges dropped in Idaho
Miller’s attorney, Jeromy Stafford, confirmed that the two misdemeanor charges against the former Olympic gold medalist have been dismissed.
“No drugs were found on Bode’s person,” Stafford said, adding that prosecutors agreed to drop all charges after reviewing the facts of the case.
Fremont County Prosecutor Lindsey Blake also confirmed the decision, saying her office determined it was “in the interest of justice” to dismiss the charges.
Blake said he would not discuss specific details because the new information involved another active case.
Miller denied drug allegations
Before the charges were dropped, Miller released a statement explaining his version of the incident.
He said he was stopped for speeding while passing another vehicle on an Idaho highway.
According to Miller, a friend traveling with him had a small amount of cannabis and a pipe, which Miller said he was not familiar with.
He said both men cooperated with authorities and expressed confidence that the charges would be dismissed once the facts were reviewed.

The arrest approached the painful anniversary
The arrest occurred just days before the anniversary of the death of Miller’s 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, who drowned in a neighbor’s pool on June 9, 2018.
Miller and his wife, Morgan, have spoken publicly over the years about the tragedy and have worked to raise awareness about child drowning prevention.
The Olympic legacy remains
Miller remains one of the most decorated alpine skiers in American history.
She won six Olympic medals during her career, including gold at the 2010 Vancouver Games, along with two overall World Cup titles.
He retired from competitive skiing in 2017.

The dismissal of Bode Miller’s charges appears to close a stressful chapter for the Olympic champion, especially with such a painful family anniversary approaching. Miller maintained from the beginning that the drugs were not his, and prosecutors eventually agreed that the case should not move forward.
