Pixar preciousness!
Everyone is excited about Pixar’s latest hit, Toy story 5which shattered franchise records with a massive worldwide opening of $312 million, marking the biggest box office debut of 2026.
To honor the universally beloved franchise, Disney went all out with special screening events in several major cities, including Atlanta, where many of the vibrant city’s tastemakers, movers and creators came out for fun family festivities at the cinema.
Hosted by the McClure family with a special performance by Craig Robinsonthe star-studded affair went public Porsche WilliamsToya Johnson Rushing Yandy Smithand more who enjoyed custom candies and treats, interactive photo ops, DIY cowboy hats, Midway Mania games, a Luxo Ball challenge and classic movie concessions in an adorable decorated theater wonderland.
In Toy story 5fans are introduced to new character Lilypad: a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet (voiced by Greta Lee) who threatens the gang’s jobs with her own disruptive ideas about what’s best for their child, Bonnie.
Tom Hanks returns as the ever-loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen signs up as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack saddles up again as the bright-eyed cowgirl Jessie and Tony Hale returns as the voice of the handmade toy Forky.
Also featuring Conan O’Brien as the potty training toy Smarty Pants, Craig Robinson as Atlas – a cheerful talking GPS hippo, Shelby Rabara as the excitable camera toy, Snappy, Scarlett Spears as sweet 8-year-old Bonnie, Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze – an independent 8-year-old girl who loves animals – and Matty Matheson as the technology-fearing toy, Dr. Nutcase.
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton (WAND•E, Find Nemo, Find Dory) and co-director Kenna Harris, the blockbuster is sure to dominate the box office before joining the live-action Moana remake in July.
