What an emotional Father’s Day.
Kimberly Van Der Beek took to Instagram on Father’s Day in honor of her late husband, Jacobus Van Der Beekwith a moving tribute where fans feel all the emotions. The message marked the first Father’s Day since the actor’s death earlier this year, making the holidays particularly difficult for the family.

In her post, Kimberly reflected on how much she misses and praised James the kind of father he was all his life. She wrote that she reflected on how “magnificent” he was and shared her belief that he continues to guide and raise their family from the other side.
She wrote:
“I miss you so much and think about how wonderful you were today in every way. And somehow, from the other side? You continue to grow older. You are a miracle.”
So, so moving.
The heartfelt note offered a glimpse into the grief Kimberly and the couple’s children continue to experience months after the loss of the beloved actor — and served as a celebration of the love and influence James left behind.
Fans flooded the comments section with supportive messages, offering condolences and sharing memories of the star. Many thanked Kimberly for sharing such a personal moment and sent love to the entire family as they also continue to grieve.
As we have reported, the Dawson’s Creek alum died earlier this year after battling colorectal cancer — a diagnosis he revealed in late 2024. Since his passing, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, friends and members of the entertainment industry.
Now, Kimberly’s latest post is one of the most personal messages she’s shared since James’ death. Uhm. Our thoughts go out to Kimberly and the entire Van Der Beek family.
