32-year-old “Hate that I forced you to love me” First announced their eighth studio album Teasing the tracklist during the countdown to April, and beyond eternal sunshine journey Display.
At their concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Friday (June 19), the entire 12 song tracklist was projected on a big screen.
First, Ariana revealed the meaning Behind the new album.
“Something that’s full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold, hard and challenging,” he shared. “It’s kind of about breaking ties with all different kinds of negative attachments, whether it’s demons in my own head, outside voices, things that don’t serve me anymore.”
“It was a writing experiment for me to use it as a template so I could talk about one thing, share something, and people could use it as they wanted and apply it to their lives,” Ariana Continued. “It’s a little wild, too. Yeah. Yeah. It’s definitely from a place where I’ve probably been too shy or submissive before to get used to it. And it kind of just feels like, okay.”
