The ultimate nostalgia trip has officially been captured by the Millennial generation. After weeks of hushed whispers and viral internet teases, Apple Music has officially confirmed that this is a highly anticipated event B2K Verzuz match against Miami’s own Beautiful Ricky will hit the airwaves next week. The beloved R&B boy bands are gearing up to go hit-for-hit, taking millions of fans back to the absolute golden era of 2000s music.
According to HotNewHipHopspeculation surrounding a potential B2K Verzuz originally exploded after members of the group jumped on social media to share a playful text thread debating which group they should theoretically challenge. The conversation quickly caught the attention of the official Verzuz media accounts, who immediately reshared the posts. Fans immediately concluded that the viral interactions were actually a coordinated promotional scheme.
To officially set the tone, Apple Music has released an extensive promotional “cheat sheet” playlist. The Verzuz will reportedly launch on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The battle will have a 20-round format, allowing each group to field twenty of their most commercially successful records and culture-penetrating songs.
The anticipation surrounding the event depends on the platform that a host manages to obtain. Last month’s Verzuz match between Rick Ross And French Montana went without a host and fans are wondering if the same will be true for B2K vs. Pretty Ricky. Rap icon Bow Wow has taken to social media to officially throw his hat into the ring as master of ceremonies.
Bow Wow shared a post online jokingly calling himself the “Dana White” of the upcoming R&B showdown, suggesting he would make an excellent host. Bow Wow is a perfect fit for the operational role, having previously starred in a highly watched, record-breaking Verzuz battle against Soulja Boy in 2021.
Bow Wow, B2K and Pretty Ricky recently dominated arenas across the United States as co-headliners of the massive, multi-city The Millennium Tour (and the recent one Boys 4 Life tour), which raised millions of dollars.
With the cheat sheets circulating online, the countdown to June 25 has officially begun!
