Love Island viewers have been left outraged by a ‘disgusting’ unaired scene.
itv fans has been imposed on season 13 of dating experiment Since it started two weeks ago. New episodes air every Sunday to Friday, with the broadcaster entertaining viewers with Full episodes of Unseen Bits every Saturday.
While the bonus installment is usually filled with light-hearted scenes that don’t make the final cut, last night’s (June 13) episode drew a backlash after Lorenzo Alessi made controversial comments about female drivers.
During a flirty chat, Priya Jaswal shared a funny incident related to her driving test. She told that she did not know how to pronounce the word ‘pedestrian’ and it was only during the exam that she learned its correct pronunciation.
Lorenzo then asked: “Did you pass your driving test the first time?” To this Priya replied, “First time, friend.”
The 28-year-old business owner sparked controversy with his next comment. “Yeah, you flirted with the instructor,” he said.
But Priya pushed back, arguing: “I was only 16, I wasn’t good at it (flirting) then.”
However, Lorenzo continued to clarify his stance and said: “I don’t know about that. I feel like all the girls pass because they flirt with all the examiners.”
Even when Priya insisted he was “very intelligent”, the Hertfordshire boy didn’t back down.
He added: “I know, but I feel like all the girls pass straight because they flirt. Because boys are better drivers than girls.”
Viewers at home were left disappointed by the scene and took to social media to express their disappointment.
One Reddit user confessed that they were “a little disturbed” by Lorenzo’s statements, adding: “His comment could be justified as a joke, but even if it was, it still rests on the sexist idea that women only succeed through flirting and sex appeal rather than their ability. I don’t know, did anyone else get it?”
More than 400 viewers liked the post, and more than 100 chimed in to add their verdicts. One said, “He gets away with saying some nasty things to women and it bothers me.”
The OG Islander previously faced criticism for labeling his former partner Jasmine Muller as “sexy” and “unfortunate” just hours after meeting him.
Someone else said: “This is a typical misogynistic comment. I’ve sadly heard this before. I’m sure he had no malicious intent, but a harmless joke can still be misogynistic.”

Other viewers are convinced that Lorenzo’s words are being exaggerated, arguing that he was merely toying with Priya.
“Haven’t seen the episode, based on the title and bullshit, I thought she might have said something crazy, it didn’t deserve a 100+ comment thread, it was just stupid flirty banter from a guy who said talking obscenities to each other was his love language.”
Yet another viewer defended: “It’s harmless flirting and you see it as an attack,” while a third fan said: “It’s like Lorenzo is preaching on the streets that women are bad drivers or something. It was a flirty comment(…).”
