Earlier this week, New York Knicks made a historic comeback to advance three games to one against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
As always, MSG’s Celebrity Row was star-studded taylor swift shines brightest.
The world’s most famous singer was joined by her friend Mariska Hargitay and the Haim sisters, all of whom wore T-shirts spoofing the team’s name (Taylor wrote “Stevie Nicks).
When the Knicks won, Taylor seemed as happy as millions of Chalamets — but like everything she does, her appearance quickly became a source of controversy.

Now, Taylor has spent several years living in Manhattan, and she considers New York her adopted hometown.
But many people are questioning his validity as a Knicks fan. In short, he is being accused of jumping on the bandwagon.
Generally, this is a pretty innocuous offense, and most sports fans are a little guilty of it at one point or another (hey, you’ve got to do something when your team gets knocked out of the playoffs).
But as Mariska knows, some violations are considered particularly heinous, and in the eyes of New Yorkers, a casual fan claiming four courtside seats is a major crime.
Some believe that Selena Gomez also influenced Taylor’s Knicks fans, a rumor that arose when Selena commented “lol” on a post about Swift sitting courtside.

but as tmz Reportedly, Selena clarified the matter, insisting that it was not her intention to insult her bestie.
“After waking up I was sent a ton of messages. I would never disrespect my friends nor was this an insult,” she posted.
The same can’t be said for New York sports reporter Monica McNutt, who was caught commenting on Taylor’s appearance in an unfortunate hot mic moment.
“She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl,” McNutt said before the game.
In comments to TMZ, McNutt later clarified She is vindicated and has since learned that Taylor is actually a die-hard Knicks fan, owning such an iconic item as a game-worn Amar’e Stoudemire jersey.
McNutt said that her original comment was simply a reflection of the fact that she had been covering Celebrity Row throughout the season and had not seen Taylor participate in any games.
So there you have it. Taylor has the express written, authorized approval of the Knicks media team.
Will she be in the crowd Tuesday if the Spurs are successful in sending the series back to New York? Perhaps.
But Taylor is probably hoping Jalen Brunson and company get the job done last night.
We will keep you informed.
