According Washington PostDonald Trump visited around 22 medical specialists for his annual medical exam last month. That’s reportedly double the number of doctors the president visited during his previous medical checkups, apparently setting a new presidential record.
The number has drawn attention, with several medical professionals calling it unusual while speaking to The Washington Post. Likewise, the White House informed the media that among the 22 doctors were some general practitioners. This has sparked a new wave of health concerns for the president.
Jonathan Reiner, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s cardiologist, told the outlet: “It’s an extraordinary number.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, said Trump “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function,” following his wellness exam in May.
Additionally, Trump boasted that he scored “perfect” on four Montreal cognitive assessments in a Social Truth Posting on May 31. “I got a perfect score of 30 out of 30, considered ‘extreme intelligence,’” the president wrote. “In fact, this is my fourth such test, all PERFECT or 120 correct answers out of 120 questions asked! It is very rare for someone to get a perfect score, especially when it is achieved four times in a row,” he added.
More recently, medical experts questioned a White House report on Trump’s medical exam, arguing that it does not provide enough information about his cardiovascular tests.
talking to The Wall Street JournalTexas vascular surgeon Dr. William Shutze said, “If I were creating a report to send to another doctor, I would have mentioned a little more about the carotid ultrasound.” And he added: “How much plaque will there be? Because almost all of us are going to have some accumulation there.”
