During an interview with Fox News Digital at the Newport Beach TV Fest, Thornton shared that people People of all economic backgrounds enjoy “Landman” But the working class can join the struggles.
“I think working people really relate to the struggles that families go through and the people who work in this industry,” Thornton said.
Thornton told Fox News Digital that he believed “Landman” became a worldwide hit and it was all thanks to Sheridan “keeping his finger on the pulse of people”.
“The really surprising thing about Taylor is that it’s not like that… or the unique thing about Taylor is that he understands all the people because it’s an international hit.
“‘Landman’ is a worldwide phenomenon, and I think what’s different about this show is that most shows stay what they are. If it’s a drama, it’s drama. If it’s danger, like ‘Lioness’, it’s danger,” Thornton continued.
“But, in ‘Landman,’ you have emotion and drama and humor and absurdity and danger. You have all of it, you know, and maybe I think that’s what appeals to people. And, besides, it’s a cast of people who are exactly who they are.”
“Landman” The podcast is based on “Boomtown”. The show chronicles the Permian Basin oil boom in West Texas that occurred in the early 2010s, caused by advances in oil drilling technology.
At the center of the show is Thornton’s character Tommy Norris. Thornton plays a “Landman”, a crisis manager working for an oil company called M-Tex. The series also stars Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm and Andy Garcia.
Speaking to Fox News Digital at the Newport Beach TV Fest, Garcia said Sheridan has created an extraordinary “ensemble” to execute “Landman.”
Garcia said, “Well, it starts with the quality of the writing and the group you choose to execute your words, and then you have the design of the show, the photography, the direction.” “But it all starts with storytelling and Taylor’s words and the way he creates a season.”
Paramount+ has officially confirmed “Landman” season 3.
