Famous Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard has issued a new health update following a recent “chaotic” hospital visit to discuss starting radiotherapy treatment.

Speaking on the social media platform, Beverley captioned her latest video update: “Well that was a long day! Lots of tests and scans and more tests… followed by a chaotic meeting of the radiotherapy team! The planning is coming together but I’m just anxious to get started…”

In the video she says from her hospital bed: “So far, blood pressure Done, it’s too much, no doubt because I’m nervous. “They’ve taken blood, blood oxygen levels and now they’re going to see if they can fit me in for a scan before the blood test results come back.”

Later in the video she changes to a clip from outside the hospital, in which she says: “The good news is it’s definitely not a blood clot, they did all the ultrasounds, they did everything.. every test is being done and obviously it’s a cyst but it’s quite normal. I’m not happy I’ve found something very normal but there we go.”

She said it was on the back of her knee and she went to St. Luke’s to see a radiotherapist. Speaking about the appointment he said: “It was all a bit chaotic because their computer system had broken down so there were a lot of people waiting to get in.

“I saw Professor Armstrong and he said, it was quite brief, but he said I would have 10 days of radiotherapy. Five days in a row, then a weekend off, then five more days.”

She confirmed that she was unsure when treatment would begin.
