Four years later, she married Patrick King, with whom she has two children, with whom they divorced in 2000.

In response, Carroll said: “That was my first marriage, (I’ve) been in two marriages, although one didn’t count, I’d only known him for a few weeks, 14 weeks. I was on the rebound and I thought, ‘Yeah, yeah’.”
Discussing the wedding further, Carroll revealed that she borrowed not only her wedding dress but also her evening dress.
“That (her second marriage) was a very proper wedding, but at the first wedding I borrowed the wedding dress and I borrowed the evening dress.
“So I borrowed my dress from 3-2-1’s Costume Cage for the evening and it was mesh with sequins in all the right places and then I got on stage and sang It’s Raining Men as the bride.”
Carroll had previously joked that performing such a song on her wedding night could end the marriage shortly thereafter.
As far as her second husband is concerned, she has never publicly revealed the reasons behind their separation, although she has expressed regret over their divorce.
She told Woman magazine, “I never said why my marriage ended and we agreed never to talk about it publicly. I regret the divorce and my mother thinks we should have stayed together.”
“She’s now remarried, so there’s no chance of us getting back together. If my career hadn’t taken off the way it did, Paddy and I probably wouldn’t have split up.”
Reflecting on the experience she said, “I never want to get married again.”
Carol has not remarried since her separation from Patrick and has spoken openly about no longer pursuing monogamous relationships. Instead, the presenter says she has several “special friends” with whom she enjoys spending time.

Of the possibility of a relationship, she said, “I can’t think of anything worse than that right now.”
“I love meeting friends, I’ve got a lot of good friends. My social life is great, I don’t need anyone for money, I don’t need anything other than good deeds,” he said, laughing.
